BIPOC* scholarship opportunities

At The Sustainable Flowers Project, we believe that creating access to educational opportunities that will elevate and support floral professionals during the current environmental and social realities dictated by climate change is critical.

For Black, Indigenous [Native American, First Nations, Métis, or Inuit], and People of Colour, accessing funds to support their education can greatly affect their earning ability, as well as their ability to transition to sustainable techniques in floristry.  At The Sustainable Flowers Project, we recognize systemic imbalances and want to be part of a future in floristry and flower farming that is fair and equitable.

We are pleased to be offering two scholarship opportunities this year, thanks to generous funding from Mayesh Wholesale and Smithers-Oasis.

* while the acronym BIPOC is meant to be inclusive, we recognize that it is imperfect and does not adequately take into account complex, evolving, and intersectional racial and ethnic identities. We invite applicants to expand on how they self-identify on the application form.
